What Else (Besides Cleaning) Helps?

Pollution Can Affect Health

The American Lung Association publishes some hints at keeping pollution out of your home on their website.

The American Lung Association also lists these common asthma triggers, some of which cleaning would have little affect on and some (colored in blue) which may be affected with cleaning: Emotions, Mold, Strong Odors, Exercise, Pests, Animals, Smoke, Weather, Pollen & Air Quality, Medical Conditions and Food & Medicines.

Generally speaking, if it can land on your carpet and furniture, we can clean it out!

Science about Cleaning?

Yes, The Science

BEFORE you can determine the cleaning method, and how to balance the 4 Components of Cleaning to the furnishing, it makes sense to determine the best method of cleaning based on your furnishings’ construction, soiling conditions and cleaning codes, along with finding out what is actually residing in the furniture.  Why?

If you consider how frequently you “clean” your carpets?  (NOT including daily vacuuming), you’ll find that the EPA recommends that you should shampoo your carpets 2-4 times per year.  If you are pet owners, you’re certainly in the high end of the 2-4.  Did you know 80% of all the dirt in your house walks in on feet? Did you know that a human sheds 1.5 million skin cells per hour and that carpet has been determined to contain 4,000x more germs than a toilet seat, and that a square inch of carpet can contain over 200,000 germs & bacteria?

That amounts to a LOT of dirt in the house.  Carpet that  is freshly vacuumed and appears clean can hide as much as a pound of dirt per square yard.

The 10 second rule? Myth!  Bacteria can live on carpet even after four weeks!  And even grosser, around 2,000 dust mites can live on one ounce of carpet.

So, doesn’t it make sense to first find out HOW much soil is in your carpet and rugs...and maybe the mattresses and drapes also, to help you determine a cleaning schedule that makes sense?  Now you can, with a simple test that only takes a few minutes, costs nothing, obligates no one, yet graphically proves what’s there.  It’s the Home and Health Cleaning Free Soil Assessment.

We take 4 samples from your furnishings and test the samples in front of you in only a few minutes.  Check out the sample test conducted in a home in your neighborhood..to the right. Also, check out the YouTube Video of Dust Mites. There's a lot of causes of home health and soiling issues and these are only a few.
